Beat holiday blues with an iPad lap stand
Holiday season is fast approaching. Whilst we relish the opportunity to spend hours lying on the beach, sipping coffee al-fresco in cafe's and visiting historical sites, we’re certainly not looking forward to hours travelling by car, ferry or plane. Normally when I jet off to foreign lands, I take my trusty iPad to keep me occupied over long hours of travel, but I’ve made the mistake in the past of not investing in a suitable iPad lap stand to make the experience more comfortable.
Last summer, I had the pleasure of going on a short break down to Cornwall to spend some time on the beach and eating cream teas with my family. As any of you who’ve traveled the route from London in the height of summer will know, it’s not always the fastest of journeys. As my husband took over the driving duties, I settled into a couple of hours browsing on the iPad and playing solitaire. But without a suitable lap stand, I soon found my arm aching and my neck feeling crooked from the awkward position – if only there was a product which would help me read with ease, and be comfortable at the same time. In the past, I’d used a plastic stand but it just wasn’t comfortable enough.
On arriving at our destination, we went online and found the iCushion. In a couple of clicks, it was ordered and delivered the very next day – I couldn’t have been more impressed! Designed at the perfect angle for reading, I can use the tablet for hours on end in comfort. Coupled with the luxurious feel of the fabric and the fact that it’s beautifully made, it feels natural to use and have with me – like an extension of my own body.
Ordering the iCushion was the ideal solution for my holiday, I no longer have to revert back to magazines and books. Not ideal when, like me, you like to keep in contact with the outside world, and to have a whole library on hand at the touch of a button.
Back in London, it’s also the perfect accessory to have around the house. I love that it comes in a variety of colours to match my living room, plus the bean-filled interior moulds comfortably to my lap so that when I travel long distances I don’t need to worry about neck-strain any more.
This year we’re all set to jet off on a Caribbean cruise, and the iCushion is one iPad accessory I certainly won’t do without!
This is a blog post by Sue on why she bought the iCushion.
